Last weekend my partner and I finally got to spend an entire day together! Usually one of us is working (normally him) so when we do get a free day over a weekend, we like to make the most of it and actually go out and do something.
Last year I had an engagement shoot at Kingston Bagpuize, Oxfordshire and afterwards we ended up at Millets Farm Centre – strawberry picking. I later realised I should have incorporated the two and shot a ‘strawberry picking engagement shoot’. Lesson learned.
It’s becoming a bit of an annual ritual- drive there, roof down, park up and go purchase 2 bottles of mixed fruit cider from the Farm Shop. Then off we go with our little basket ready to fill up with strawberries and raspberries. Each time we’ve been, its been blue skies and sunshine which makes the whole experience far more enjoyable! I absolutely love it. I find it’s one of the best ways to relax after a long hard week.
This time I decided to take my camera which meant I didn’t really have much time for picking any of the fruit, but still, I enjoyed myself none the less- I think the cider helped! 😉
If you’ve never been to Millets Farm then you must put it on your to do list before the season is over! Its such a fab day out, especially if you have children as there is so much for them to see and do. Although we do not have children, we both still really enjoy visiting.
As well as all the fruit and veg picking, there is the maize maze, an outdoor play area for children, adorable farm animals, woodland walks, restaurants, the garden centre, and of course… the best ice-cream! It really is a great day out for anyone and everyone.
