A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Keri Williams– a kinesiologist, writer and business mentor from London. Keri helped me redesign my website and in return I shot her images for her own website.
Originally we arranged to shoot somewhere in London but with my ever-growing baby belly, I wasn’t keen on the thought of trains and tubes so decided to bring Keri to my neck of the woods.
In our search for a venue to shoot at, Rachel, who is director of events at Casterley Barn very kindly offered us the opportunity to shoot at her gorgeous venue and of course we jumped at the chance because it was perfect for the shots we needed for Keri’s website.
Casterley Barn is a new wedding venue based in Pewsey and is part of the Rushall organics estate, a family run organic farm in Wiltshire. The barn itself is absolutely stunning and when we arrived I was blown away by the facilities.
One side of the barn features bifold glass doors, filling the entire room with natural light. During the summer months the doors can be opened so guests can spill out onto the lawn and admire the amazing views of the rolling Wiltshire countryside. The outside space is simply beautiful and features an outside bar, ceremony space for couples wanting to get married outside and a cast iron fire pit to keep guests warm later on in the evening.
Upstairs there is a cosy mezzanine level room with its very own log burner– perfect for guests who want to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the wedding. It’s also where Keri and I started off shooting as the fire was lit and we couldn’t resist! The weather that day was so cold and windy and this room was far too inviting to say no to.
I love a barn wedding and in the past I’ve been lucky enough to shoot at The Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury, Stanway House Tithe Barn, and also Wick Bottom barn in Wiltshire many moons ago. All these barns are beautiful in their own way but Casterley Barn is more of a modern looking barn and by the sounds of things, they can offer couples everything they need to make their wedding day extra special.
Head over to their website to find out more info on booking your wedding at this beautiful modern barn. In the meantime, here are some images I managed to capture of Casterley Barn on the day.
