Bowood house wedding fayreAs featured on B.LOVED.

At the end of last year I went along to Bowood House wedding fayre on behalf of B.LOVED wedding blog. This is only the second time I’ve been able to go along to an event as most of them are nearer to London so when this opportunity came along I was super excited!

Seeing as I’m not engaged, this was my first experience of a wedding fayre and I found myself having to fight the urge to talk about my imaginary wedding (September 2018 for anyone who’s interested) because oh my gosh, so many people asked when I was getting married and the suppliers stands were so pretty! For a short while I almost forgot why I was there!

I took my mum along for the day out, which probably didn’t help because now she has big expectations about my wedding day– which dress I’ll be wearing, what colour scheme I’ll choose and how many glass jars to start collecting for table decorations. And of course, she loved Bowood House just as much as I did.

So there we were sipping on prosecco and cordial mixtures whilst swooning over this gorgeous venue and all it has to offer to couples who are planning to hold their special day there. Even the entrance is spectacular– huge golden gates leading onto a tree-lined drive way with endless photo opportunities.

By the way, if you’re looking to add a little twist to your welcoming drinks, the barmen at Bowood made delicious alternatives by adding Belvoir cordial to prosecco and they were extremely yummy!

My Mum’s word for the day became WOW. And it really is the kind of venue you can wow your guests with, starting with the Kerry suite. It is in this room where everything happens. Doubling up as both the ceremony room and the wedding breakfast/reception room, the Kerry Suite is licensed to hold up to 160 guests but for couples who are looking to have less guests, the Fitzmaurice Room is another option, holding up to 50 people.

At first I was a bit put off at the thought of everything being in one big open room as I like the idea of having a ceremony in a separate room to the wedding breakfast so I asked Marina, the wedding coordinator at Bowood and she explained things a little clearer. The Kerry Suite can be partitioned off in order to separate guests and prevent them from seeing your wedding breakfast tables. Once the ceremony is over, the super organised staff whisk the tables out whilst your guests are enjoying a glass of bubbly outside because the Kerry Suite opens out directly onto a terrace area with breathtaking views and contemporary sofas. Over looking the golf course and a beautiful little lake, this is the perfect place for guests to relax and for children to play. There is even the option to have a relaxed BBQ on the terrace for couples who are looking for an alternative to a sit down meal.

There are 43 contemporary rooms at Bowood and although the main bridal suite wasn’t available for us to look round, we did get the chance to have a look at another room, which can be used for bridal preparations. Being a wedding photographer, give me any room with gorgeous light flowing in through tall windows and I will be in photographer heaven. Which is exactly what happened when we entered room 109. If this room is anything to go by then the bridal suite must be amazing!

Bowood House has one of the best equipped spas in Wiltshire and even has it’s own infinity pool! The spa is included for anyone who is staying at the hotel (minus treatments) so it’s a great venue to stay the night before your wedding. Think: mini hen do with pampering sessions and prosecco for you and your bridal party before the big day ahead! Perfect.

There is no doubt Bowood House Hotel & Spa is one of Wiltshire’s most luxurious wedding venues and I cannot wait to return to shoot weddings here in the future! Prices start at £79 per head and they are also offering a 20% discount for certain late availability dates in May 2017.
